FAQ

Progressive Wellness Center – EIDBI Services

What is EIDBI?

EIDBI stands for Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention. It’s a program that provides medically necessary, evidence-based services to help children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions reach their full potential.

Who is eligible for EIDBI services?

Children and young adults (under age 21) diagnosed with ASD or a related condition and have Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare may qualify. We can help you understand the eligibility criteria and guide you through the process.

How do I start services?

Simply call or email us to schedule an initial consultation. We’ll help gather your child’s records, complete the necessary assessments, and develop a personalized plan tailored to your child’s needs.

What happens during an evaluation?

Our team will meet with you and your child to assess their strengths, needs, and developmental level. The evaluation may include interviews, observations, and standardized assessments to create a customized treatment plan.

What kinds of skills does EIDBI help with?

We focus on improving communication and social skills, independence and daily living skills, school readiness and behavior management, coping skills and emotional regulation, as well as parent education and family support.

How long does my child receive EIDBI services?

The duration and intensity of services depend on your child’s individual needs and goals. We regularly review progress and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.

Do you offer in-home services?

Yes! We offer flexible service locations — at our center, in your home, or out in the community — based on what best supports your child’s goals.

Are parents or caregivers required to participate?

Absolutely — your involvement is critical to your child’s progress. We provide parent and caregiver training so you feel confident supporting your child at home and in daily life.

What if my child already receives school-based services?

EIDBI services complement — not replace — school services. Our team will work with your child’s school and other providers to ensure consistency and support across all environments.

Do you work with children who are nonverbal?

Yes. We work with children of all communication levels and help them develop alternative communication methods (such as PECS or devices) as appropriate.

Is there a waiting list?

We strive to minimize wait times. Please contact us for the most up-to-date information about availability.

How is EIDBI different from other therapies?

EIDBI is an intensive, individualized program that combines behavioral, developmental, and family-centered approaches. It’s designed specifically for children with ASD and related conditions and involves close collaboration with families.

Can siblings or other family members participate?

We welcome siblings and other family members in parent education and select activities, as they can play a vital role in supporting the child’s growth.
